Well its my B-Day what do i get???

Well, in two days, (Jan. 9th) I am turning 14. I am expecting to get prolly about $50 from my parents, and today i got a check from my aunt for $25. I dont have any other family with us

. So anyway I have $75 (plus another $75, i just sold a coin) so $150 to work with. I have decided to make a type set of some nicer grade coins. My question to you is, What should I start with? A Dansco of coarse, i think my parents may be getting one though. So thanks for your help

Happy birthday. Get whatever type coin catches your eye. $150 will buy a decent coin of most types.

If I were you (and I was, once) i would start with a nice VF to EF Capped Bust Half, and try for one from before 1825, with attractive darkish natural toning and lighter highlights. Something along these lines:

such a coin might cost you $100, and with the rest of your money, you could fill several more of the less challenging holes in your type set.

Other ideas would be a half cent, 2 or 3 cent piece, or a capped bust dime or quarter, again in VF/EF.

let us know what you decide on, and post a pic.
