Exactly what sinin1 said. The 1972 (and the 1971) mint sets were not issued with IKEs! That really irritates me. If you are going to make something up, at least make it somewhat believable.

I'm going to email him just for shxts and gigglesimage

Here's what I sent the seller:

As I'm sure YOU'RE aware, 1972 Eisenhower dollars DO NOT come in mint sets. Your item description is in error.

  • He did change his description:

1972 IKE roll in a square tube. These IKE coins came from US Rolls of IKE Dollars. They are Brilliant Uncirculated coins directly from the mint without ever being in circulation

Because I'm such a lovable guy. Auction now says:

If we want to pick nits, this description is in error as well. The Mint didn't supply rolls and did not deal directly with the public for these coin so he could not have gotten them directly from the mint. They would have had to go from the Mint to the Fed, possibly to Brinks, then to his bank and finally to him. So the most direct route from the mint to him still has to go through at least two and possibly three others before they get to him.

you guys are too quick - I was going to ask him if he had any more of those 1972 mint sets with IKES, as I have been looking for one a long time - and would give him $50 for one
