There's a 1879 High tide Penny on eBay now, but the pictures are worthless.
Can one of you please tell me or show pictures of the difference of high & low tide.
Thank you,
Glenn

The 'high' tide intersects where Britannia's left leg intersects her right. The 'low' tide is below that intersection.

1) Get whatever kinda Brit coin it is you wanna attribute.
2) Take a clear glass and fill it with water until the water is about a millimeter or two from the rim of the glass: almost full, in other words. (Unless of course you happen to be a pessimist, in which case it's "slightly empty".)
3) Drop the coin into the glass.
4) If the water in the glass flows over the rim and spills on the table, you have a High Tide penny (or farthing, or whatever).
5) If the water in the glass does not flow over, and smells like dead fish and seaweed, it's a Low Tide penny (or farthing, or whatever).
It's foolproof. Try it sometime.
