It doesn't look like true doubling Baley. There are a lot of contact marks on this circulated piece and I think that is what is showing. I do think this is a real clipped coin and not a post minted clip. The Blakesley(sp?) effect is in the right place.
It's definitely a real clip. The marks on the rim are just damage. 1944 is probably the most common year for clips in the Lincoln series, with 1972 being a close second. Even so, I've not encountered many of that size on the date. Nice find.
