Franklin Half From Original Mint Set ~ Will It Go MS66???

I posted a week or so ago about an original 1953 double mint set that I purchased.

This is the best Franklin in the bunch. Do you think it will go a '66???

Would not make NGC FBL but I do think it will go FBL at PCGS.

Always hard to grade from a image...

This one appears to have the fields of a ms66......

Not really sure if I'm seeing something on Frankies cheek......

It also appears that the Bell Lines are broke and incomplete due to a hit on them....

This is a pretty coin..... You have it in hand....

    A 53P even in a ms65fbl is a very nice score......

it seems to be a lock ms65, if it is FBL, send it in....

Those more expert than I on these have spoken...so pardon me while I pee in the punch bowl. I don't think it will make 66 @ either service.

I think the coin will go MS66. It has "the look" PCGS usually gives a little bump for.

I would say MS65 because of the cheek. Might get bumped to MS66 because of the color and luster. 1953 is a underrated date. IMO

It looks like, to me, what people are seeing in the cheek isn't chatter but rather incompleteness of strike. I do see some hits on the Liberty Bell as well, as well as some other miscellaneous stuff. To me, I'd say that coin is a 64 if it's white, but maybe a liner 64/65 because of the color and it probably gets the bump at either service to a 65 if they grade it before 10 a.m. on a Tuesday image
