does it look like this Lincoln has been plated?

this is an interesting auction - stamp/coin slab - but the 1926-S doesn't look right - has it been plated?

  • Sort of but it is probably just cleaned and/or polished with a jeweler's cloth.

  • It sure doesn't look right. I've seen all sorts of novelty holders like that and I don't think I ever saw a coin in one that wasn't polished.

It appears to have been cleaned in a rock tumbler. It was definitely cleaned, no question about it. Method is debatable.
