Newspaper ad that works?

Hello all.

I was wondering if anyone had a good classified ad you would be willing to share. I want to run an ad locally to see if there may be anyone looking to sell coins.

Just curious. Any input is appriciated.
Sincerely,
Jamie

Local radio stations that have buy, sell or trade programs mite also be a good source.

  • I have aout 25 yrs. in graphics, design and newspaper industry. If you send me the wording, I will help you design and edit one free ad - with only one 'D'...... as a Christmas gift to the first 4 people who contact me via PM. Design will be basic, please limit logo/artwork .......... Logo design is extra, and not free. Sorry, tired. tonite. In return, I only expect one thing - mail me a coin! image
  • Okay - Maybe that is why I am having trouble. Yes I meant AD. I deserve the pokes.

There are 2 papers here. One big, one small. Big one can get pricey - so if I go that route I want to be sure to be smart about what is said.

    Thanks for your time.

  • You don't need a fancy ad, Jamie. Just a simple ad saying you're buying old coins.
Have a lot of money because you're going to be bombarded by people wanting to sell.

Something like "Coins Wanted" could trigger a barage of folks holding bags of wheat pennies, state quarters, kennedy halves, etc. Maybe you could be a little more specific about what you are looking for, as in "pre-1960", or "silver", or anything else that might help weed out those coins you might expect to see sold in bulk.

A guy that has 1,000 rolls of Roosevelt dimes from 1970 might treasure them, if for no other reason because he has been holding them for 33 years. I suspect you won't see "value" the same way.
    I brake for ear bars.
