No way to know for sure, but I would be surprised if there were not some graders there today. Most professionals are back at work unless they were as smart as me and took the day off.

Looking out at the businesses surrounding me, it appears that there are quite a few smart people in this area. (Not me!) Of course, that isn't making any sense, since one of the empty buildings is city hall. In their case I think it's more laziness than smarts.
I wish they were working today. It would take one more day off of my economy submission that I sent in last month. Then again I dont think anyone should be working the day after Christmas.

I wish they were working today also, as said, one less day for my freebie's comin back. But I bet they aren't.
No actually I dont, I am glad for people to get a day off, as many do not have that luxury. I am fortunate enough to be able to take off a day or so, just about anytime I want too. Of course the graders are paid quite well, from what has been posted, so they shouldnt complain too much.
<< <i>I doubt they are working. I got my grades back on the 23rd and they were much better than my prior 2 attempts. >>
That was MY hope too in trying to time sending my coins in to arrive so that they would hit the grading room the day before or the day after Christmas when all the graders are feeling good......or should be feeling good! They arrived on the 18th, but haven't posted yet. I'm thinking they might get graded on Monday. I hope the graders had a good enough Christmas for the mood to last through the weekend and into Monday!
I have read several posts over the past few weeks about people hoping that the graders feel good when thier coins come across the gradin table. I sure hope to H"", this really has nothing to do with how coins are graded. If a grader can be influenced by his/her own personal feelings on how they are feeling that day or if any thing thats happened to them in thier personal lives that day that was either good or bad has made an influence, then the grading service is just a waste of time and people should look elsewhere.
I would hope that the graders are as consistent at grading one day from another.
I would hope that the graders are as consistent at grading one day from another. ...Probably about as much as I or anyone else when they go to work on different days. We're all human beings and are influenced by people and events, whether we care to admit it or not...JMO...Ken
I don't believe that its anyones intention to argue that a coin can go from a 63 to a 65 just because the grader(s) is/are having a bad day, or the inverse where a coin is graded lower. What I think is quite reasonable, considering, as one person has already said, that we are all human, is that along the lines of what is surely at least somewhat a subjective interpretation of a coins attributes, there is movement one way or the other in a manner that would make an otherwise borderline coin bump up or down based on the mood of the grader(s). Grading moves along a spectrum, much like a rainbow, Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, etc. The fact that we assign a value to a specific wavelength of light and call it true yellow, is something that can only exist in a laboratory or on paper, and cannot be truly attributed to a specific object by a human being using his sense apparatus (eyes, brain, etc). The same holds true for coins. Yes, a true MS61 `exists' in the sense that it IS whatever the accumulated grades of whatever the governing body (PCGS, etc) says that it is. No ONE coin is the perfect example all the time for a given grade, just like there are many different shades of what we all agree as humans, using our human sense ability, is the perfect shade of yellow. So, when your coin is in that `gray' area between 'orange' and 'yellow' (MS62, 63, etc), where its arguably both through different eyes, there are a host of reasons why an individual would be a little more generous or stingy based upon extrinsic factors. Plenty of psychology experiments have demonstrated what we bring to the `subjective/objective' table when make sense of the world around us. Has your wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend (I think I covered all the bases) ever looked exceptionally beautiful/handsome for no `apparent' reason? Same idea........
