Went to the local coin shop yesterday and got to see some pretty special coins. The first was a 1796 Flowing Hair small eagle in NGC au58.........coin had the appearance of at least a 62, and will someday probably get there. The fields on both obverse and reverse were as clean as a babies bottom. The strike on the reverse looked typically incomplete, and was probably what kept the grade down.
Also got to hold 2 pretty cool $2 1/2 gold coins from the D mint, an 1841 in au58 and an 1839 in pf 62. To say I was a little overwhelmed would be an understatment! My only regret was not being able to share a picture of any of them with you all!
