Whatever happened to rainbow Morgans on eBay??

It used to be not so far back that eBay was loaded with $300 and under rainbow Morgans with lovely colors, crescents with real rainbow effects (alternating bands of color) and such. Now, $300 on eBay seems to buy a PCGS/NGC slabbed bland blue or brown toned Morgan. Have prices gone up that much or is eBay not the marketplace anymore for these?

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • I've noticed that some nice ones on ebay that aren't "monsters" are actually going down in price. Picked up a few recently for under $100 apiece. And won this one over on Yahoo auctions for $50

I have to agree with you that there aren't nearly as many deals to be had on toned coins on Ebay these days....people are holding onto their past deals and seeing what happens. There are many overpriced toned coins on Ebay, however.

The market for A color with grade of MS63 and up is very strong. B to C color coins even with better grades have softened. We have had a hard time of finding material that is at a buyable price.
