Gotta sell!

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I have to sell a lot of my coins to pay for some unexpected expenses and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience using the BST board? My coins are mostly toned but I also have DMPLs and some better date white coins. I would appreciate any feedback reguarding this venue. Thanks very much for your time.

The B/S/T board is always worth a shot prior to ebay or other avenues.

The BST board is free- no reason not to try it. I've had good luck there... you just need good pictures image

Thanks for the quick responses. I do take pretty good pics but I will also send coins to people on approval which, I feel, is the best way to decide on a purchase. I know I could do a lot better in a major auction, even after the related fees, but don't have time to wait 2-3 months for the money. Is the BST more of a wholesale venue or can you get greysheet or better for nice PQ coins?

I'm pretty sure the auction houses will advance you money ASAP if you have the right coins. Probably costs 1% a month or something like that.
  • I love buying off the B/S/T and have done 1 sale. Put 'em up and let us have a shot at 'em.

Thanks everyone for the help and comments. I'll try to put a few up and see what happens.

Seems to me that most of what's up on the BST board is closer to retail than wholesale. Most of it doesn't sell however. Just like on the bourse floor. Find the specialty dealers in the material you have for sale and price it as tight as you can.

I've sold a lot of coins on the BST Board and offer the same terms as when I sell on ebay with the returns, free shipping, & payments etc.
The only time I didn't was when a dealer bargained me WAY down on a slabbed CC Morg lot and I said ok it's "as is" & a done deal then.
The only problem I have with the BST board is trying to keep all the PM's sorted out about who wants to buy what because 4 people will bargain or want more pictures without committing then somebody else sends a PM saying they want it and will send a PayPal immediately.
What I like about the BST Board is that it’s quicker & cheaper than eBay.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

As said above, quite a few auction houses will give cash advances... I think up to 50% or more of the estimate.
