I won!

At last the money and coin came together at the right time. Last night I snagged myself this little guy at the B&M auction. My internet bid held up against the live folks :-)

This is the most pricy coin I've ever gotten, and it feels so good to have won it. I saw it as the big hurdle in finishing the set. Only three to go now.

Oh yes, it's NGC MS64 the lines you see on the cheek, and across the reverse of the image are on the slab. Now I just have to wait for it to come in the mail :-)

I hope other bord members have had as much luck with the auction.

Looks great! The scratches look just like slab scratches. No problem I'm sure.

I had no such luck. But knowing that at least one coin went to a collector's set makes me feel better. Congratulations!

    Sweet!

    I'd rather have that than a 1913!

Congrats. I just went through the prices realized last night to post on my site and noticed the coin. Now I know who has it. Nice icon, wonder what it looks like in person. imageimage

Isn't 1912 very hard to get 'corney'? That one has great corn detail.

Thank you for all the nice thoughts people. It's nice to be part of this community.

I had a B&M person inspect the coin for me before I bid, just to be sure about those scratches. They were on the slab.

As soon as I have it in hand I'll post my opinions on it's real life look. It has to fly back to LA from Baltimore first, then to me. So it will take a bit. Ah the wait. Makes getting the mail more fun!

And to answer TWQG, yes they are very hard to find with good corn (Specially on the left ear) This one is quite nice. Just to see how hard, there are two up on teletrade right now, a MS65 and 63. Neither has any kernals at all on the left ear.

dbldie55, is my icon the small version of yours? Should assume it is a coin of yours? Cool! It's nice being part of your sites price history also, itt helped me a lot in deciding what to bid on this very coin. :-) I note you are down to two left for your MS Liberty Nickel set. Which ones? I'm mixing Proof and MS so it's not as hard for me to find them... I'm left with the '87 '88 and '90 to go.

    Myriads,

Yes, I own the coin in your icon. I even uploaded the icon. I am missing the 85 and the 12-S for my mint state set, although I do have the 85 in proof. I keep noticing the increase in prices for the '85 and 12-S. I better get them sooner instead of later.
