What about this Jeff? Is a modern worth sending in?

Next year this one will be 10 years old. Still has full steps. Worth getting graded?

It looks circulated and has some PVC. I would pass on certifying it.image

hard to tell from the pictures, probably MS65FS if what appears to be nicks at the jawline is on the coin.

Wouldn't waste the money! Probably MS-63/64. The pictures could be better to offer a better opinion.
I submitted what I felt were two flawless 2000 Jeff and they came back MS 65 FS. Not worth the submission price with todays prices!

These later date ones are pretty easy with full steps, so on coins after about '86
you have to look for very clean surfaces.

I was wondering if the green was PVC. Thanks for the answers, I will buy a soda with it tomorrow. (along with several other coins!) image

66impalaSS....Look at the reverse of that coin above Montecello All of those tini scratches are from circulation. Your coin looks to be a AU53-AU55. The green is PVC...acetone will sometimes remove it.

Actually, the reverse may be just general corrosion. When I opened some 1988P nickels last year from original rolls, half of 2 rolls (I got them in 88) had this green stuff all over. Just corrosion.
