Results from the Bag 'O' Coins purchase....

Some participated in this thread sometime last week. I'm too lazy to track down the thread. You may remember the guy stating in his advertisment something like "Best coin deal on ebay" as most do. Well, here are my finds, wherein, I'll be able to retire.
The 1/2 pound 'O' Coins consisted of:
40 wheat pennies(5 REALLLLLLY SHINEY ONES..what would shineycoinboy say?)
2 wheat zincs
3 Jeffs- 40, 46, 54
3 Roosies-53, 54, 64
2 Mercs-44, 46
1 IHC- 1907
2 Buffs- 34, 36
3 Wash- 42, 60, 61( shineycoinboy would fall in love with the 60)
1 Walker- 42S
1 Frankie- 63
1 Kennedy- 78-S PR
1 Penny -91 BU...from a mint set.

Gee, my experiment worked and my hypothesis is correct...$HIT...Moreover, I'll leave the guy a positive feedback because I knew better...imageimage = image

You don't understand. That's Booms charity auction. He donates the coins to sell on eBay and he donates 100% of his net profit to somebody. So if he sells $10 of coins to you for $25 he donates $15 to somebody (unless he thinks the coins are worth $20, then he donates $5 - less his expenses)

Don't confuse it with his Regstry Spam

My guess is it would be more cost effective for you to donate $25 directly to a charity of your choice, but that would leave Boom with too much inventory.

Who does boom donate them to, other ebay vendors? This batch I received today came from some character in Florida, suncoins... errrrrr sumthin' like that. You know how those Floridian vendors are...everything begins with SUN.

I'm not quite sure how the Boom Foundation is set-up or what charities it supports. I think those are details yet to be decided.

But the idea is you send him money and for every $25 you send he'll send you some coins he has. He deducts the cost of the coins from the $25 along with his other expenses and then donates his profits and writes that off as a charity donation off his income taxes.

When he first introduced the Boom Foundation to the US Coin Forum it didn't go over very well, but he has legitimized it by listing it on eBay where 4 or 5 Forum members bought coins.

So, for your $25 you get $10 in junk coins and you give him a $15 tax write-off.

Unless you want $10 in junk coins, it would seem to me a better thing would be to donate $25 to a charity of your choice.

I get the boom deal. How did boom fit in to this other auction that I received today? As I stated, these came from some character in FLORIDA....Not BOOM

I saw you were listed as a buyer of Boom's bag o' coins and Boom said he was donating the bags and sowing them himself so I just ASSUMED it was booms auction you were refering to since we were both too lazy to track down the thread.

I can't keep track of all your purchases so I guess you bought a bag o' coins from somebody on eBay who lives in Florida and advertises here. His profit won't be donated to charity and most likely has no association with the Boom Foundation.

Since there are many offerings for the bag o' coins on eBay from your report it sounds like you did find the "best" deal on them. image

Well to be honest with you, not only would I not bid on that I wouldn't (and didn't) even read past the first sentence before passing.

Why didn't you leave a netural saying "Received $10 in junk coins" as a warning for others?

If he SCREWED me I would have. Furthermore, if you had participated in the original thread; wherein, I had found this "Too good to be true" deal that one of our forum members linked, you would've realized this venture that I took purchasing these BEAUTIES was a JOKE and nothing more. It's simple and I'm sure you can comprehend...READY?....I DIDN'T JUST HOP OFF THE BANANA BOAT YESTRERDAY. I knew exactly what I was doing, why I was doing it, how I was going to do it, and I did it. Why would I leave this character negative feedback? He sent me EXACTLY what I expected...image

Well, buy the ad not the coin I guess.

You should have bought last month when Gold and Platinum were found.

I don't think it was Boom's action. Boom's is a BUY NOW and he tells you that you a doing it to do a good thing, Not the you will make out in the deal.

I plan to help out in Boom's deal. Been helping others since my parents showed me/told me it was the right thing to do. Sometimes I think as bad as I am, it is the only reason God lets me live
