Price Guide comparisons

I just picked 20 Morgans (ms-63 or higher) at random and looked up the latest prices
on Coin World Trends and PCGS Daily Price Guide.

Trends total cost was $5890 while
PCGS total cost was $6052, only $162 difference over twenty coins !

While PCGS tended to be higher on most, they were lower on some.
I didn't have the luxury of comparing them with the Gray Sheet.

Question : for those of us who don't have current dealer's price sheets,
would using an average between Trends and PCGS Price Guide
be a good tool when shopping for a coin ?

    I always use coinworld trends. I also check out prices of simular coins from completed Ebay auctions to get a feel of that they are going for.
    PCGS Currency: HOF 2013, Best Low Ball Set 2009-2014, 2016, 2018. Appreciation Award 2015, Best Showcase 2018, Numerous others.

    You picked the (2) highest price guides.Grey Sheet bid and ask prices are lower usually.

      It's been suggested to me to use the numismedia giude and the graysheet for comparison. However, anything AU-58 and above, when using numismedia, is at a cost...They getcha on that!
      What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

      If you sign up on Heritage's website (which is free) you can search thier auction archives which I find is a pretty accurate indicator of "market value".
