I guessed right! I saw the title and thought Seated Dollars would be the next set you would collect. Great start too!

I thought I would practice adding images here. Most of what I have need to be resized to be under the 50kb limit. That's why this one is a little fuzzy. But, I'll keep practicing and get better.

TDN: Two very different but equally wonderful coins! Who cares if your set is not full or for that matter just a newby set? It keeps you humble just the rest of us!

And that my friend, makes it fun for all of us! image<p>

There is no greater joy than the excitement of beginning a new coin set!!image

So far my favorite is your 1853. How close are the colors to the image?

    Thanks, guys!

The 1853 image is almost exact to the coin - warm golden centers graced by electric blue peripheries. Stunning! And very rare [and underrated] as well - even Eliasberg didn't have a proof 1853 seated dollar....

Sorry I can't open it up yet, but this one is progressing as well:

Here's the reverse of the 1853 [I wish the Set Registry allowed two images]:

TDN had them all set up correctly. All I had to do is put them side by side for him. Heck the coin is way to pretty not to have both sides showing.

I thought the image would be too large to have both the obverse And reverse side by side?

That 1853 is one hell of a coin.

For those of you just delving into the seated dollars, here's a little tidbit - the 1853 is the sneaky key to the proofs. A very difficult coin!

TDN: Nice change of pace!! I suspect there are still pockets of great "value" in the 19th century material, like the collection you are undertaking now?

    TDN,

Great start to the set. Those coins are gorgeous! Keep us informed as you acquire new pieces. A lot of us love to see pics of coins that we'll probably never own ourselves, but appreciate the beauty and rarity.
