      From the pic it has the appearance of an outline of a "0" below the "1".

      Mike,

      Its looks like its the 1901-s over 0 5$ . Looks to be quite abit of the 0 left as compared to the Breen Pic. But I have limited experience with gold, so Ill let others comment?

      I agree with jdimmick - it's a match for the photo of the 1901-S in the Breen book, but yours has more of the 0 showing.

      New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

      Looks like a zero under the 1 to me too. But, looks lower than the rest of the numbers...is that normal for overdates? i dont know....just askin. image

      You have to remember the dates were added by hand.So the position could be different on every coin.

      Yours could very well be a earlier die state then the one in Breens as yours looks sharper.

      sorry guy'simage- just having a little fun. Yes, it's the 1901/00-S $5 FS-006 in a NGC MS63 holder. I wanted one of these in a higher grade but I had a hard time finding one with a very clear overdate and with eye appeal at the same time. I am rather impressed with this coins grade of MS63 I don't say this to often but I think this one has a chance of getting in a 64 holder if tried. mike image
