I love coins like this. When I find off center IH strikes with the date missing I try to narrow down the date based on strike characteristics. Any clues on this Kennedy? Heritage internet auction pic, graded ANACS AU 58 Struck Thru Grease.

I don't think it's a '72. The mint mark looks like it's too close to the base of the bust. It also looks smaller and less defined than it should. Of course, that could just be the image. About the only think I know for sure is that it's not a 1970 or a 1976.

From looking at the wide rim it has its likely to be a 1971...or is it `74........one of those years.

Looks like a 1973-D and here is why I think it is.The serrif in the G is thick and looks like an arrow.The serrif in the 1 is sharp and the placement of the mint mark.
