Need dipping advice.

I have a very beautiful high end AU 1921 Peace dollar, well my son does, he's putting together a set. The problem is that although the reverse is 100% white with full cartwheel luster, the obverse looks like it was in contact with cardboard and has dark grey toning. I can see the cartwheel luster beneath the toning and was hoping to dip it to make it look better. Normally, I would NEVER clean a coin, but this one is such a high end AU that I figured it would be ok to dip it. So, what would be the best way to go about it? Thanks.

instead, sell the coin & buy a different 1. it's not an expensive or rare piece.

What avout shielding the front and applying the dip with a Q-Tip on the back?
Depends on how heavy the toning is. If its light, weaken the solution. Use a large plastic-like tweezers, dip a few times, use plenty of ionic water to rinse, paper towel dry, hairdryer dry, lamp dry. Remember slower and conservative is better.
Presto! Now your AU58 is now an NGC MS64.
