Censored Words

Good afternoon all:

We've been pretty lenient about letting you all "go around" the censorship on some words.
It looks like we've been too lenient as many of you are pushing the envelope further each day.

From now on, if the word is censored, and you creatively find a way to type it out, you may get a warning. If it happens a second time your account will be deactivated.
If the word is deemed bad enough from the start, you may not get the first warning.

Ken,

If you try to use one, you'll get a message with the word highlighted in yellow and it won't let you make the post until you remove it.

Is it still alright to type, "Peacock" as in 'Peacock Ikes'?

I remember when the boards first started I couldn't even type by own name.

When you attempt to post, the system will not allow it and inform you that you have a censored word.

The exceptions to this rule are the obvious peaco*k toning will not get you busted.
Those who do it know when they are doing it and no they shouldn't.

For example; I have noticed the word { FRANKIES } used abundantly
on this forum. Is that considered a 'creative word' ???

I would say that this happens more frequently on some of the other boards but since everyone has to play by the same rules, I have to post it on all the major forums
so it's fair for all.

What happened to "Freedom of Speech?" It's a pitiful day in....ooops, you know where, when man/woman can't express themselves w/o the bleeding heart fanatics pissing and moaning about it. Gee ZOOOOOO, are we not adults at this forum? What should be done is, CU should weed-out the bleeding hearts and let the collectors express their discontent/content about the transpirations between vendors, buyers, collectors, YN collectors, and I'll even thorw this one your way...those that just show on here because they have nothing better to do and are TRYING to delve the realm of numismatics. Hey, the last one was mere conjecture... I don't want you to derive my above expression as derogatory toward your....just having to do what you need to do Carol. I can't believe all the juvenile humor in this thread. Y'all need to remember that CU provides this as a free service and is under no obligation to anyone to continue it.

Complaining about censorship is such a forum is kinda like when the NEA cuts someone off and the victim pretends it is some kind of constitutional freedom of speech issue. As if. The constitution says nothing about the gubmint being obligated to give people money to say stupid things.

I have to say I'm glad to see less profanity. In 99.99999% of cases it's not needed to express oneself. Some users just seem to want to act like children.
