Everytime a new Grey Sheet comes out the prices in the lower end of the grading scale (G-F or so) 1918/17-D nickel are higher. The current bid is $700. I happy to see this, as I bought a PCGS G4 (all coins in this grade should look so nice, and with a very clear overdate too) about 10 years ago for $290.
I also noticed that the bids for the 1942/41 and 1942/41-D dimes also rise every month. I have a 1942/41 XF-40 that I picked up around the same time in an ANCS holder and crossed to PCGS at the same grade (it was a free PCGS submission), so I like that price rise too.
edited to add: My G4 1918/17-D nickel is one my favorite coins; based on the price increases many other collectors apparently like this date too.

I call these `smart coins`.
Its hard to go wrong if your investing in them.
