Are GSA Morgans worth less ?

Just bought a 1883 CC GSA Morgan ms-65 in a PCGS slab.
David Lawrence Rare Coins sold it for $310, the PCGS Daily
Price Guide says it's worth $430.

Did I just get a great deal or are GSA coins worth less than
the regular market price ?

    The PCGS price guide is a, well guide! greysheet is $285 bid $315 ask
    It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

    You picked it up for right around Greyheet. If it's solid for the grade, that's a pretty decent deal.

    Congratulations! That was a fair price. PCGS does not recognize the premium for GSAs in their price guide. I have one of these in PCGS MS64 that is really awesome.

    Skipper: The market has been paying premiums for GSA CC Morgans in the original U.S. Goverment GSA Plastic Holders vs. the PCGS GSA Labeled slabs.

    The higher prices that you may see posted for "GSA CC Morgans" may be for the ones in the original Govt Holders, which have not been cracked out and put into the typical sized PCGS or NGC slab.

    NGC is now certifying & grading these GSA dollars in original govt holders by adding a tamper-proof seal, which hels to keep alot of them from being cracked out of the holders for certification. image
