<< <i>I DO NOT HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF COINS AT ALL... >>
Boy, for someone who doesn't know anything about coins, this guy is sure selling quite a few of them. He's got a knack for finding "questionable" ones, too!
<< <i>Havana. I was thinking the same thing. >>
Bob-
The only thing stopping me is the fear that the conversation would turn to "Why the hell did you BUY that piece of crap?"

<< <i>Havana. I'm thick skinned.
I think I'm going to bid 5 bucks on it.

<< <i>I wonder what happened to cause a 1996 to make it look like a 1900? I swear I've seen this coin on auction before. >>
You think it's a '96? Could be. Looks like a '90 to me with the 9 mushed around to look like a '00. Either way it looks fake. And c'mon- if you are going to fake a coin at LEAST you shouldn't give it a date 86 years before the coin even existed. Even *I* know that!!

Good link! We need to start sending this to the ebay scammers we encounter.
I explained what a troy ounce silver round was and that these are of European origin, I also burst his bubble on the values of them and the date forgery.
He did send me a reply thanking me for the information, though he hasn't bothered to alter the auction pages based on his new found knowledge.
Why am I not surprised??

This is probably the dealer that everyone's been waiting all their lives to sell to over on the dealer horror stories thread.
<< <i>Thanks for the input SMART ASS!! Perhaps, you should spend more time reading the SPAM policy of Ebay. Unless you have a legitimate question about something I have for sell, DO NOT SEND me any more emails. If you took the time to read the description of the items I have for sell, it clearly states they "REPLICAS" for a "conversation piece" TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 25 > Sec. 486. states....... "intended for use as current money".......... Go waste someone else's time!!

Actually, I think I shall spend more time reporting every auction he has as illegal interstate trafficking in counterfeit goods to EBay...8 down, 10 to go...
I emailed him but got no reply.
