Leave a negative Feedback or Drive seller nuts?
What would you do?
On 8/27 I purchased an item ($15) and still no item. Contacted seller through his cell phone and got the run around, never answered emails and so on. Well, with a little digging I found out in his contact information his name was spelled wrong. Bingo, now I have his home number. Called yesterday and same o same o runaround. He at 300 pos,16 neuts and 20 negs. There's probably alot more negs out there , but like myself i don't want the clown to bust my 400+ positives.
Well since I work the night shift calling someone at 3 or 4 am is no big deal. So what do I do? Give him the neg on the 24th(90 true days) and hope he doesn't neg me, or let the feedback go and call him 3 or 4 times a week for a month or two at 3 am and ask him how the weather is in Texas?

Long distance calls are cheap nowadays especially with a calling card.

If he already has 20 negs then 21 would not affect him much. You, however, do not want to bust your 400 pos. I would not neg him sounds like the type to neg back. I only have a 67 with 74 pos, no negs or nutes and have had to let one or two small things slide to protect it. If I were at 400 I surely would not risk it. Just my two cents!

I guess it really depends on whether your perfect feedback is worth $15. What you can do however is look that the feedback the seller has left other people and you'll be able to see if he retaliates if people leave him negs. One of my ebay rules is, never trust anyone with less than a 99% positive rating.
<< <i>He has left negs for negs.... >>
I'd just drop it then. It wouldn't be worth the $15 to me.
If your tale is true, this guy deserves a neg, and the other people out there in eBayland deserve to hear it from you. Let the chips fall where they may. If he retaliates, so be it- everybody runs across a whacko who ruins their perfect rating eventually, anyway- it's the law of averages. And maybe this guy who is too lazy to communicate with you will also be too lazy to retaliate, and/or you can smack him on the 90th day like you mentioned.
PS- do NOT harrass the guy over the telephone. I know it's tempting to call in the middle of the night, but don't go there.

<< <i>Neg the twerp. You've been more than patient. If you want to neg him on the 90th day so maybe his chance to hit you with a retaliatory neg will expire, that might be good strategy. >>
Heh, heh, I forgot about that one
Auction Ended: Aug-27-03 17:52:27 PDT
so if I neg him it would be a couple of minutes before on Nov 24 at 7:52pm cst.

It would be Nov 25th, not the 24th.
Small?, I bet 1000's of people would buy software like that!

I can think of a dozen reasons not to have high capacity magazines, but it's the reasons I haven't thought about that I need them.

The auction was for a computer motherboard.
At the time I bid his negs and neutrals were both at 9. Since most of the negs were for non-working items and slow shipping, all i needed was a part off the board. So i would have been happy if it just arrived.
But yes, I could have looked around and found another seller. So a knock on the head would have had me looking elsewhere.
It would be different if something arrived, but nothing and then to avoid all the emails and personal calls....that ticks me off..."Thanks for the money sucker, now don't bother me".....
It looks like the "neg him" is in the forfront so that's what will happen. But the telephone is a wonderful annoyance tool.

depending on how you paid.............go thru your credit card, the USPS, his local law enforcement, his state AG's office, etc......
We have handled more than a few "ebay" complaints at our PD. The latest one was a seller in our city was seemingly stiffing a guy on 300.00+ of baseball cards until he got a summons with a court date and told that if he failed to refund the money or didn't have the cards in the buyers hands in 3 days that he needed to be in court at 0900 that day! LOL The guy got his stuff.
Personally, I'd legally make someone's life a living hell if they attempted to hose me out of a dollar. But that's just me.

are you going to hose me out of it?

Rewarding him would only reinforce his bad behavior.
Trooper,
My first neg came under similar circumstances. Seller gave me the runaround for over two months, including shipping me an empty envelope. I knew he would relatiate, but I negged him anyway to try and warn others. He has since changed handles on eBay.

Take the guy to the cleaners trooper...do what it takes before he screws too many more good people.

State your concerns. If they ring true to what others have said, folks will get the message.
If you get one back, so be it! People will read what is up, and with your squeaky clean record, you'll be fine!
Good Luck.

So, relying on that may not save you.
I would say, if the negative is deserved on him, do it. People are likely to look at yours and see why, and you can always add a response to it.

PS....I don't know how to leave feedback post 90 days, but some on RCC (rec.collecting.coins) as well as on ebay's on forums have mentioned it.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
