1969s DDO Lincoln.....anyone seen one lately?

Has anyone seen one of these lately at a show or up for auction? I keep looking for one and have never been able to locate one. I realize it's ultra-rare. Heck I'd settle for a picture!! Someone have one to post? Or any info on one for sale? I mean the big one and not a second rate variety or mach. dbld. date examples that are a dime a dozen!

Those don't seem to come around very often. The only one listed in the Heritage auction archives was from nearly 4 years ago, a MS62 that sold for almost $17K. Link to auction with photo.

Funny how this coin is popular now. When I found mine (later sold) in pocket change in '73, nobody wanted to touch it due to it's inclusure by the SS as a suspected counterfeit. This had to do with a new type of 'roller press' striking die. Seems after years the 69-s DD was authenticated as a true blue American boner and was legal to own. I had to sell mine for the simple fact that the SS was aware I had found one and I wasn't going to let them have it. Back then in the 70's, error collecting was a tight knit group where word spread fast.

Try Andy at Angel Dees. Unless he sold it at the Santa Clara show, he has a really nice super slider PCGS AU58 in stock.
