It's Franklin Halves
Why......
1. They're large coins, which are better than small coins.
2. No clad issues, the entire issue is silver which provides superior strikes, luster, and toning for those who like it.
3. It's a well balanced design and aesthetic in a "quaint" sort of way.
4. Historical representations on both sides of the coin and consistent thematically. (I wish the Kennedy half had the Ike reverse for thematic, as well as aesthetic consistency.)
5. It encompases one of the "coolest" periods in American history, the 1950's.
6. Only 35 coins to complete the set which is not mind-numbingly long like Jeffersons for instance. If you add the proofs, including the 1956 T2, it's still only 50 coins, a nice round number)
7. All coins can be located in MS without any trouble but there are still some challenges to keep you interested when high MS grades or FBL coins are sought.
8. Total dollars spent are reasonable, i.e no Uncirculated Library of Congress Bi-metallics to worry about.
9. It has a novelity factor: The only non commemorative half without an eagle as it's central motif, and the only coin struck for circulation with a private company's name on it (Pass & Stowe)
