How is my grading?

I am grading this coin MS65. I see 5 small hits on the obverse and
4 on the reverse. It is a circulation strike 66 DDO. How do you feel about my grade? Opinions?....Ken

Well...

The coin might pass as a 65 technically. but I think it is generous unless the coin has a lot more pizazz in person.

From a technical standpoint, I agree with the grade of MS65. However, if it's an eye popper blazer, it could go 66. The hits aren't the kind that stick out like a sore thumb, the fields look very clean, so full luster and cartwheel could earn it a bump.

Hits on obverse lead to MS64. Cheek is to nicked up and to obvious to be a 65 imho. Rev. strike looks medium.

No seperation at the bottom of the sheild and tail.

Russ - your coin is a 67. Ken's coin will 63 before it 65's.

Clearly, there is something wrong with your definition of boredom.

The coin I posted was graded MS66 by PCGS. I would have graded it MS65 from a technical standpoint. PCGS really likes luster on these.

Think the original coin is a 65, would look nice with a quick dip!

Technical, schmekmical... it's all about luster. Your coin starts at MS69 and works backwards because of the luster. Then you can debate how much is taken off for the hit in the field in front of JFK's chin. Ken's coin has no life, no pizzaz. It starts at MS64 and works downwards.... unless the scan doesn't accurately portray the luster.
