Recieved my coin

hey all , if you remember i told you about my 1885 i bought for 185 that i asked all your opinions on. well the coin is here. those nicks in teh rim are limited to the 3 little dots. apparently either that was a really bad picture or htey sent me a lot nicer coin but it is real. full date all words readable (all but liberty). but i think this is easily a g-4 coin. mind you i got tons of stamps on the envelope from 1959 to the 1980s. very odd ball ebayer. who puts 60 stamps on a package to mail. many are 3 4 and 10 cents stamps
some said energy crisis.
some was spirit of america (1776-1976)
some stone guy on a 13 cent stamp.
july 4 1959 stamp
some war ship 3 cent stamp
out odd ball stuff. i dontknow kinda scared me seeing all these stamps on a package. but the coin was more impressive. easily a g-4 but a good after auction close for 185$

A lot of coin dealers buy stamps below face, then just use them for postage.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Often times you can buy old uncanceled stamps below face value - and yes they still work.

glad you're happy with your coin atarian, it's a date V nickel not many collectors have, I know I don't (although I do have an 1885 quarter and silverdollar)

I've also gotten packages with lots of different stamps on them and they made me wonder.

Where in the heck do you buy old stamps for below face value? and who is selling them?? image
