What to do?

I sold a coin on eBay a couple weeks ago.
The person I sent it to claims they never got it.
The item was insured but the postal service said the item was signed for by the person when I asked them to track it.

Should I refund the buyers money and lose out or take a negative and just respond with the psot offices information that the person signed for it?

The P.O. can provide a computer printout of the tracking info. I've went through this before. Scan the printout and email the buyer with the evidence. I wouldn't refund anything if the P.O. has proof they delivered it.

Dont refund, especially since the PO says they know it was singed for by the addressee. Like veridicus said, get the physical evidence and then confront the buyer. Once you have proof in hand, case closed. You owe him/her nothing. If they give you a negative, reply with what you said...PO confirms receipt via signature of buyer.

Then...consider letting other sellers know who the buyer was so they can avoid the same thing in the future. Maybe this is his/her little scam goin on....but thats pure evil minded speculation. sorry. :-)

Send him a copy of the PO report showing he signed for it along with a PO Claim form and a see if he wants to try for Postal Fraud.

Tell the buyer the P.O. says it was signed for and that you can't give a refund and that you will have to talk to your post master to see how to proceed. mike

Of course the delivery receipt probably merely shows that it was delivered somewhere and someone signed for it. I have signed for other peoples stuff many tmes and I have had items belonging to me delivered to wrong addresses and signed for before as well. I had amailman for awhile who, in order to save time, scanned everything as "delivered" each day before he ever began his route.

My mailman used to just put anything I received in this little box by my door........per my request. I guess someone turned him in cause he had to quit doing it.

The thing is the shipping address I was given was like Jill Doe.
The item was signed for according to the post office by Jack Doe.
The e-mails from this person all say from Jack and Jill Doe.

I would think if the mailman was just signing for it themself they would use the name on the address label.
