Tempting Too Bid, But No Return Policy Keeps Me Away ---Bust Half Dime

This bust half dime might be real nice--that's the problem, might. If it is a nice MS coin, someone may get a bargain. If it's cleaned and polished, at $85, that's not too bad. I e-mailed the seller why I thought a return policy would get them more bids (mine), but they replied no dice.

From the poor picture it does look cleaned and polished to me. No way would I bid unless I could return that coin.

I agree with you, a return policy is a must, but I can tell you that I have only returned one coin this whole year, and I have purchased many dozens, here on the BST and on Ebay, I concentrate on sellers that I have dealt with in the past and have been very happy. I stick with the best, and consequently get the best, but sometimes one cannot resist the urge to hunt down bargains, but without a return policy, its a worthless bargain as far as I am concerned.

No way!!! It's totally cleaned/polished. Yikes! I can't believe someone is now stuck paying $121.50+shipping for that turkey.

I think in this case the evidence strongly suggests a problem coin.

The coin doesn't look polished to me. I think it probably has had a light cleaning. There is still luster left near the stars which should have been removed with a polishing. While it certainly has some problems, I don't feel by the scan it is a dog. Having said all that, I wouldn't buy a raw coin from ebay from an unknown seller with no return priv.
