Which Peace Dollar in MS65+ is the REAL Stopper in the Series?

Peace dollar collectors,

Forgetting what the pop. reports say, which Peace dollar do you think is the REAL stopper to completing the series? A date where you have searched and never really seen a superb example or one that satisfied you.

1921

1923-S

1924-S

1925-S

1927-S

1928-S

1921. Are there any full strikes out there?

    In MS-65?...The 34-S, the 21, then the 28, in that order....image

    Dragon,

The one date in 65 or better that I've never had the pleasure to find that appealed
to my taste and satisfaction is the 25-s........very difficult to find an average strike on this
date/mm that meets the technical requirements for a 65 and has nice eye appeal.

    The 28-s would be a close 2nd in 65 and the 23-s in 65 right behind it......imo

I am not a Peace dollar collector, but a good freind of mine is and I would have to agree on the 25-s in 65. Extremely difficult to find with a better than average strike, Nice eye-appealing luster combonation.

In fact I have never seen one in 65 for sale, nor would be willing to spend the 16k+ to aquire one.

    1928-s, 1923-s, 1934-s even the 25-s is tough.

I think the 25S and 28S are by far the toughest in 65.

I have never seen a 25S that I would call truly Gem.

Even finding one in fully struck Choice is difficult.

This one has a better than average strike for the date, but a few unfortunate marks and somewhat subdued obverse luster:

a curious fact: See how weak the word "God" is on the 1925 shown?

someone strengthened the word considerably for the 1926 coins:

an aside, I know, but still thought it might be interesting to ponder image

I'm with Baley (not literally, as I'm very happily married and about to leave for dinner with my wifeimage ).

I'd put the 25-S and 28-S in the toughest category, the 23-S, 24-S and 27-S in the next most difficult group and the 1921 at the bottom of the "stopper scale".

Edited to add: I tried to answer from my real life experiences and not based solely upon the pop. report figures.

    Chime....

Everything from SF is weakly struck so finding a superb example is almost impossible at 64+. The real sleeper I feel is the 28' in Blast white condition with minimal marks. I've found only about 1-2 in the last 6 months that were really nice above 63.
