Which one is the DCAM??? Hmmmmmmm.....?

I've often said that a DCAM Frankie must have very nice frost however, they must have strong deep mirrors and have a nice black and white look to them because of the contrast between the Frost and the Mirrors....

I know its very tough to grade from a image and especially proofs..... I'll just say this, these two coins have deep gorgeous mirrors and its very tough to find hairlines.... so for fun, which one did or didn't go DCAM? Did they both? Or did neither go DCAM? And answer why you think either or....

so for fun, give it a shot...

From the pics, I don't think either is DCAM. The reverse kills it for both of them. Also, the obverse seems to be a little weak on #1 for DCAM. If either is DCAM, it's #2.

I've changed my mind. The first went DCAM, the second didn't, but should have.

I think the first is the DCAM, the second seems to have a slight brushed look that may drop it out of DCAM range.

Just an opinion based on the pics, but to my eye, the first coin is only a cam. The frost on the portrait, although full is not white, but has a silver satin look. The second coin looks like a pretty solid dcam obverse, but I think the reverse puts it in a cam holder. JMO both cam, not dcam.

I'll guess the first one is cam and the second DCAM. The frost might be a little weak on the first cheek. In any case both look great!

I think #2 looks like it should be DCAM, while the first looks a little weak on the frost/contrast. But my guess is that neither got the DCAM designation, and both are sitting in CAM only holders. Pretty sweet looking coins I might add....

Neither of these got DCAM, however coin #1 is a solid DCAM. Its my photo that really sucks. I really struggle at imaging a proof coin..

coin #1 is the one on the right... This one goes back..... Coin #2 is a solid Cameo that really wouldn't look out of place in a DCAM holder. Both coins have fabulous deep mirrors.....

Oh I don't know... I usually get a good grades right off the bat......

This particular Frankie is a lock DCAM, so it will go back......

I'd love to buy those Frankies at a 67 Cam price.

Someone recently received all Cameos on some coins that looked DCAM to me in the images. If I were submitting a modern proof coin I might wait a while, it seems they are pretty stingy with DCAM these days...

Yep, it is. I've seen it and wasn't even worried about it getting the designation. I don't know what the hell is going on at PCGS right now, but it's almost as if they've dropped DCAM as a designation.
