    Ken,

That's a very nice group of coins. I'm struck with the series too. Even though the design is getting tired, I still believe it is the best coin design for circulation since the Winged Liberty was retired. My efforts have been aimed at a short set "plus". I'm working on varieties and errors in the short set (through 71), and the few other coins in the series I consider important: all the 76 coins, the 82-83 MS coins, the 82 no FG, the 98 SMS, and a few others. The one that's bedeviling me is the 65 rotated reverse. I think I blame the AH for my interest.image When I'm certain I have completed my quest, I expect I'll crack all the coins and purchase a custom Capitol holder. Good hunting compadre. image

Don, I also blame that darned AH for this problem I now have. If it wasn't for that Russ guy, I could spend my money on the more important things in life, such as good expensive imported and micro-brewed beers. See what you started Russ!!!!!....Ken

Just don't forget to check behind you once in a while......Joe, I'm 100% positive of what you mean, with me being in 11th place and you in 13th. I have a 65 on the way to PCGS via Marty right now, and a great 66 going to NCS and then PCGS, also via Marty. I'm 100% positive of moving up in the standings.....Ken

    Ken,

I see you've clawed your way in to 11th place - two places behind my second set built with leftovers I had laying around. image

    Don,

I know! That's why I'm not standing still, but rather spending all my waking hours hunting coins!

    Don,

Since that coin has been cracked out, it is clearly no longer worth as much. However, I'm willing to step up to the plate and buy it for the slabbed value noted on the holder.

I looked everywhere on the holder for the grade and the guaranty, but since I liked the coin I gambled the $5. I feel pretty foolish for having bought it now that Mr.Bowers hints the market might tank. image
