Way Off Topic: Lunar Eclipse

If you have clear skies and you are East of the Mississippi might go out and look in the eastern sky. Very cool lunar eclipse taking place-reaches totality just after 8PM EST.

Cheers

Checked at 6:30 and it hadn`t started . I checked about 15 minutes ago and it was about 1/4 to 1/3 obscured.

This may be OT, but I'm damned glad you'd posted it. I forgot! It's supposed to happen here at 5:18 PM (Pacific time).

The moon is now about 50% shaded here in PA....Ken

Barry · November 8, 2003 9:31AM

Looks really neat thru a telescope. Can really see the curve to the shadowed part.

Russ · November 8, 2003 9:32AM

#$&@! Cloudy here in Texas.

allegri · November 8, 2003 9:54AM

Two things:

Eclipse is very cool.

It is very cold in Northern Michigan tonight.

fountainheadgold · November 8, 2003 10:14AM

In Conn. it to is cold and the eclipse is at 95% now, and the moon is beautifully toned tonight

airplanenut · November 8, 2003 10:16AM

Very beautifully toned!!!

Russ · November 8, 2003 10:23AM

Well, of course, we had just enough cloud cover move in. Crap.

Here in Minnesota it looks very much like the image pictured above.
Perfect Autumn evening for this display.

Baley · November 8, 2003 11:18AM

It's kinda hazy in San Diego but we can see it. Looks like the Moon's getting bigger again.

a2labmom · November 8, 2003 11:34AM

Just came back in from watching it. What a sight.

cladking · November 8, 2003 11:51AM

Forgot all about and just happened to catch it.

dbldie55 · November 8, 2003 12:07PM

Very clear, not too cold (it is above zero), and very clear in central Montana. Cool to see, but does not compare to the solar eclipse I saw years ago.
