grading.

i dont get this. in currency a 1969 $1 bill in fine cant be expected of a bill from 1869. there is too many flaws with the system. im working on this and i got a photo grade book and all but i dont know. i think if currency has exceptions to their rules on grading im sure coins do also. is a 1835 vg the same as a 1935vg?

Yes the same. It goes by amount of original detail left.

i see people buying large cents and half cents for like 150 or 100 from lets say 1798 cause ive seen this and you cant even read the date on the coin. its like yes i will pay all this for a coin i cant read. and the discription says good condition. how do we justify this. i got a 1798 cent in vg to f if we start using their logic. all words are readable it has detail of design on the back and the only place there is no real detail is on the bust. teh words "state of america" is owrn but readable only near teh rim. woudl this then justify this as Fine grade with these morons????

People who sell raw coins call them whatever they want. Its up to the buyer to ignore abvious overgrading claims.

it has to be better tahn Good -4 grade ill have to scan that when my friend sends me her old scanner. hehe. i think ill make a post of all items i was to scan and then list waht each was and let you people have a grading fest
