  Does anyone think there is a possiblity of the coin being a copy that someone ground off the word copy, and sanded or ground the coin down to look like wear?

  I am not making any accusations, I am simply asking a question. It just seems odd that the spot with the most wear, is the spot where copy would be on the copies.

  Possible, but not sure, that it is a copy that was roughed up. I'd sure like to see a closeup of the date to examine the overdate.

  I would give that coin a wide berth. As noted, it does look excessively flat spotted on devices like it was ground down. That's one of those coins I would only buy slabbed ...
