Some doofus will win it thinking they can get money out of PCGS for their "mistake".......I do not think they will be successful image

Better yet, someone will win it, have a legit PCGS MS64 1921 High Relief Peace cert #, and jack up their registry set for a fraction of the regular price.

I know a member of this board who has a registry set that contains an MS64 Trade Dollar... except in the holder is a Morgan!

Current focus 1855 date type set
  • Has someone run the certificate number to see if it comes up Morgan or Peace? I also find it interesting that the seller never mentions the blatent label error at all.

Why....you think that PCGS made an error.....oh heavens how could that be possible?????

No, they didn't make an error. It's just that coin swapping is too common a possibility. We have to think of more exotic ways to exhonerate PCGS.

Perhaps someone from the future came back in time to watch the construction of a local mall and wanted the real coin inside the slab but wanted to have a bit of fun at our expense. So they transported the peace dollar out and transported a morgan dollar in. And in the future they'll read these messages and laugh and laugh...

Well, you know the sherlock holmes thing: if you eliminate the possible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the answer. Since we know PCGS doesn't make mistakes, we gotta go to the improbable answers. image The more improbable the better! image
