Grade My Frankie!

I just dug this out of my type set album. I bought it back when I first started collecting. I was really excited about it because it looked like it was in great shape for a 55 year old coin. Now that I know a little more about coins, I've backed off on my opinion a bit. So, can anyone help me grade my Frankie?

couple fairly heavy hits to the bell limit this one to maybe MS61 or 62. (with the constant possiblity of a bb for "damage" or an AU58 for "rub" Too bad about the digs because the obverse looks choice.

    MS62.

In a lucky date, this might be MS63 in AGC.

Hard to tell for me from the Images.... but the Reverse seems to bring this one down. The big hits on the Bell are very distracting and the Bell Lines are broken...

    I have this a ms63....

  • Indi - this is a perfect coin for an album because the obverse is in really good shape. As others have mentioned, the hits on the bell kinda bring the coin down into MS63FBL range. One thing about Frankies is that due to its wide open spaces and designs, hits like these really take a toll on a coin. That being said, this would be an excellent addition to a very respectable type set image

  • I am sorry but "Grade my Frankie" sounds somehow obscene. image

  • Thanks for all the input. I was mulling over the possibility of having it slabbed, but I think I'll leave it right where it is.
