anyone know how to put a watermark on your .jpg coin pictures?

Does anyone know of a program that will overlay a watermark on your .jpg pictures?

Something in a light color that would make my pictures worthless to steal for anyone -

something like daves coins - that could be seen through to the underlying coin?

I am sure some program is out there - was working on my vendio account and they would do it for only $3 a month for items going through them - thought that would be $3 a month more than I should pay for another photomanipulation step.

Hmmm, I've never seen a specific program to do it. But then have never looked all that hard. If I had to do it, I'd use photoshop. It's only a few keystrokes with it.

But a quick search found this, a nice piece of software that does all you ask, and it's free also!

There is a process called steganography which allows one to insert data into a picture file. It is not visible but you can always take a picture that you suspect someone lifted from your auction, etc and check it for that data. An article on it is located here. It includes programs for unix and windows.

It's easy with Photoshop (or the cheaper Photoshop Elements). You just put your intended watermark in another layer and adjust the opacity to desired level in the Layers window.

copyrightinserter is something like what I am looking for - except I do not have a Mac

my current image manipulator does not allow it - but I am downloading current version and plugins and hopefully will be able to - it is also free
