Let's say that there are 20,000 1865 double eagles and that they are all 65's. What do you think each coin would be worth? Why?

From what I've heard, silver takes a beating in salt water but gold stays pretty pristine.
If the salvagers are smart they won't flood the market with their coins; that would just
drop the value. If they set a price for the market ( whatever that might be ) and release
just enough to satisfy demand, they will be able to keep the price high enough to pay
for the recovery costs and make a tidy profit.
Unfortunately, that price will probably be high enough to keep people like me from
ever obtaining one.
