Time to add to the Registry?

Jeffersons, Mercs, Franklins, SLQuarters and and now Roosevelt Dimes all have a designations that help describe the grade and to a point, the strike of these coins. These designations must have some value in terms of how coins are weighted on the Registry. Does it make sense to have a second tier Registry that is based on high grade coins that do not have the designation?
I am not a Registry collector, but I think it makes sense to consider this because not all collectors view coins the same way (overall eye appeal, lustre, blast white or toned). It may create interest among those who feel it is not worth it to even attempt the challenge of the Registry because some coins such as a 1953-s FBL Franklin are truly rare coins. A set of high grade Franklin Halves without the FBL becomes more affordable and can involve more collectors...the same can be said for all of these series. I think it is worthy of consideration...any thoughts???

Why compete at all? I collect coins because I enjoy it, not to try and beat someone else. I could care less who has the "best" collection.
