Today, I noticed that Heritage is starting to use a new imaging style where you can pan and zoom in great detail. It's pretty cool.

I think it's a step forward, but some others don't like it because their older version software will not run the plugin required (without download) to view the pictures properly. There are benefits and drawbacks to this move, that's for sure...I think a good solution would be to have their photos load either way dependent on whether the client has the plugin. They did not program for this. Get the plugin or skip their photos. Not a good solution for a business that so heavily relies on photos for business.

I didn't consider the plug-in issue. I'm currently viewing these coins from a PC at work running Internet Explorer.

I wonder if I'll have any problems viewing these images from my Mac at home running Netscape? That is certainly a major concern.

I thought it was pretty cool, they obviously put alot of time into getting high grade images, but I can understand others not wanting to accept a plugin to see that stuff, security issues being what they are - it's not always safe to accept downloads.

I did zoom into a couple coins and was impressed with the images, but since they are canned images, you don't always zoom exactly where the cursor was clicked, that confused me at first (but them I'm easily confused).image

I must have had the plugin already. I wonder if it's the same plugin that Teletrade uses?

  • i saw the thread header and thought that, just maybe, they were removing the window screen from the camera lens. what they need to do for us internet bidders is to go back to the imaging they were using a few years ago.

  • If you look above the photo there is an option to turn off the "advanced pan/zom feature". If you do that you are back with their old system where when you click on the picture you get an enlarged version of the whole picture.
