Submission #3032532, zip 98032

1 60134669 1962 50C PR67CA (PR67CAM)
Finally nailed a Frankie on the nose! Pretty coin that is right on the cusp of deep cameo.

2 60134670 1964 50C PR68CA (PR67DCAM)
PCGS blew this one, period. It's a deep cameo all day, every day. Matter of fact, it was cracked out of a PCGS 67DCAM holder and sent to NCS to remove a spot. They bounced it back as not removable. Watch for this one again on a future submission.

3 60134671 1964 50C Accented Hair PR66CA (PR66CAM)
Eeensy, teensy micro milk spotting on this one. Were it not for that, it'd be in a 68CAM holder. Monster mirrors, no hairlines, with a deep cameo reverse. Nice eye appeal.

4 60134672 1964 50C Accented Hair PR66 (PR66)
5 60134673 1964 50C Accented Hair PR66 (PR65)
6 60134674 1964 50C Accented Hair PR65 (PR65)
The usual very close on these. Got a minor gift on line 5. image

7 60134675 1967 50C SMS MS67 (MS67CAM)
This one is right on the cusp of cameo, so I figured it could go either way. Not all that disappointed.

Date Received: 07/23/2003
Date Shipped: No Date Specified

My grades are noted in bold parenthesis. Overall, not a bad submission in my continuing quest to sooner ot later, someday, nail all of them on the money.

  • Line 2 does look like a solid DCAM, I have one that I had going 69DCAM, they 68cam'd it first, then they 69cam'd it. They are so tight right now on CAM/DCAM.

I will say the 68 grade on that is unbelievable, that spot on the T...image

I have a number of 65 and 66 with a spot just like that, I that is the only blemish. They almost did you a favor by putting it in a 68CAM holder first.

  • Hmmm,

#2 looks familiar. Sorry to hear PCGS screwed you out of the grade that coin deserves. DCAM! Bummer about the spot too. Still think that coin is excellent.

Yeah, PCGS is weird that way. If it was spotless, but had a couple hairlines that you need an electron microscope to see, they'd grade it a 65. I've frequently got upside surprises because I've docked the coin too much for a spot or two. They don't seem to bother them as much as they do me.

    No big deal there.

I've done it several times. I prefer an 8 penny finishing.image
