Preliminary shots. NO MORE SCANS!!!

Some of the first slabbed shots since getting my Nikon coolpix. Camera is awesome. I am not yet but some of these I am proud of.
This is the whole collection (12 coins). Not all have close ups but I tried to capture as many as possible before it got too dark.

The lighting was tough at first, then the fog rolled in and the colors starting turning out great!! I think the fog really helped spread the light around evenly.

Feel free to post to eliminate the annoying attachments.

You're off to a flying start John, great pics (and coins). I remember you posting that beautiful 1888 IH proof a while back -- it's a treat to see the new and improved version. My favorite image is the 1886 3-Cent nickel, awesome.

CoinLieutenant: Digital photography can really open up a new world of enjoyment for you with your coin collection. I'm just starting to get into it myself, and it's a great way to share your colelction with others and also a good way to develop your own creative photography methods...

Amosadvantage.com has them, but if you search around some other venues are a bit cheaper. Beware of cheap knock-offs that copied the same lamp style.

Not bad John,
Some are better than others, but aren't they all ?
I live in a condo so I'm stuck with artificial lighting.
Still, I'm getting better and I'm hoping to post some of my coins soon.
My shots got better when I started using a black felt mat.
Also , if you have a tripod you can keep the camera absolutely still.
