question for type collectors

How do you store your coins. I have been storing mine in a 3 ring folder with the pocket pages. and my slabbed coins in the green and blue PCGS boxes thats ok. But the folder look kind of plain and I think I would like to find a way to store the raw type that would look a little classier than the cold clear pocket pages.

You might try the new Amos holders available from the Coin World website. They come in two sizes, one about the same as the ANACS holders and the other about the size of the PCGS holder. They are not sonic sealed and can be reopened. Inserts in them are black.

Do what Baley does. Crack them out and find some Danesco holders to put them it. He had some great pictures of his collection in these albums and they were awesome.

O.k. so you don't want to crack out your best coins. I like the Eagle Albums for my slabbed coins. They are a neat and easy way to store and display your coins. Not as attractive as Baley's albums but you don't have to crack the coins out.

I have mine displayed in Capital Plastics 8x10 holders, one for the 20th Century coins and one for the 19th Century coins. They look really nice on my bookcases.

Mine are mixed 2X2's and slabs in no particular arrangement. 2X2's in a ring binder, and slabs in boxes. Maybe someday I will get them organized into a book of somekind. I would like to get the ring binder slab holders I have seen.

  • My raw coins are in Mylar flips and in a SAFE brand coin drawer in my safe.
My slabbed coins are in a PCGS box from Amos.

I don't see a draped bust, does that mean dansco doesn't have a hole for all 3 half cent. I like to find some thing a little early than 1807. I don't have any classic commems but they do look nice in there, and these seated libs dollars are wonderful. thanx guys

It's funny, the Dansco 1800-present type set album includes the draped bust half cent and cent, but not the draped bust silver. Probably because they're rather expensive coins, but I wish they were there

You might want to check out the old whitman bookshelf type set album, it's in 2 volumes and includes 1793 to present, including the flowing and draped bust types, and some of the more esoteric types such as all 3 of the 3 cent silvers, the no stars seated half dime and dime, and the 1873-4 arrows coins.

the whitman is a tough set to complete! the 1796-1797 half dollar is a stopper!

whitman would be a lot harder to fill and I do think I like you Dansco album better.

With the Whitman, the very early types, if you do manage to collect them, will likely be slabbed, and you will be reluctant to break out a thousand dollar plus coin and poke it in an album hole and slide the slide.
