OT but I want your opinion - new web site.

I know this site is off topic, but I don't know the people who hang around on the other boards around here - I stick to this one exclusively. Anyhow, I just developed a new site for my wife's travel agency and would like some input on what you think about it.
NOTE: As of yet none of the links to other parts of the site work, so don't bother clicking on them. All I am interested in now is the design and flow of the home page. Thanks for looking.

Edited to add: BTW, just so you know, I designed everything on the site including the logo. They had nothing to start me off, so I did everything from the ground up.

(I make this observation just in case you get Web users at your site)
Some of the remainder of the site will be static content, but the crux of the site is a customer database that will allow people to register with their information, then when they want to travel all they have to do is log on, go to the request page, put in their travel preferences, and an email will shoot off to their representative for research. When the agent finishes their fare research they will either e-mail or call the client with the fares. The client will then decide whether to take the fare and book reservations or change plans.
What the company had before was a pretty crappy corporate system where the client had to fill in all their personal information every time they wanted to request travel - a waste of effort and time on their part, but the company was still receiving a dozen requests a day like that. Problem is, they also get 50-100 phone calls a day for travel, which is chewing up all their time. The plan with the new system is to make it user-friendly enough to make the clients want to use it so they will lay off the phone calls - everything would run much faster and smoother if requests for travel came in a formatted email rather than a phone call. This is what I am working on doing for them.
As for the travel news and emerald news on the home page, the agents have an admin page where they can type in their own articles for these areas and submit the form. The information is instantaneously added to the database which updates the site immediately. The clients will have an opportunity to edit their information, add to their information, delete their account, request travel, change a request, or delete a request. They will also be able to view all current requests and their status.
