I don't know what ebay rules are, but if there is a minumum reserve fee on a lot being valued at 1 million dollars, you'd assume he'd pull it before the end if he doesn't get any bids. I guess he thinks rich people are dumb.

The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.
He lists those 22 Morgans for $1,000,000 and puts a 15-word description that doesn't even list the mintmarks.
For this auction he sold 3 Morgans for $41 and included a 1,700+ word description!
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
I think it would be great if ebay changed it's rules so that no coin with a minumum reserve could be pulled from an auction with out being penalized the equivelant of the minumum reserve fee. So if the fee is 5 % this clown would have to pay 50 K to ebay if no one pays 1 million for his coins.
Also this would stop dealers from listing their online inventories as phoney auctions. Just some of the reasons I don't like sleez bay.

Bear, that's priceless. You are probably feeling terrible after blowing your money on that crap they push at Long Beach -- you know the stuff, coins with nice eye appeal in PCGS slabs.

There is no reserve, just a crazy high minimum bid. It costs extra for reserves on items that don't sell but not for high starting bids. So there is no reason to end this auction early, unless the seller starts feeling guilty.
Could someone please explain to me what ebay rules will penalize this jerk if his coins don't sell ?
There must be a minumum reserve fee structure of some kind, how does it work ?
Also, if a person can simply avoid a minumum reserve fee by pulling a coin right before it's scheduled to close, why hasn't ebay tried to put a stop to sellers doing that by imposing financial penalties to sellers doing that [which I think would be a great idea] that would put a stop to scumbags like this. It would also stop phony auctions with dealers simply trying to sell online inventories by making their coins appear to be auction coins [when they are clearly not auctioning them].

BL...Excellent suggestion! As far as the scumbag remark, I wouldn't go that far. He/she is doing some heavy duty dope or, another possibility would be that he/she had a stroke, brain freeze, orgasm, or several other finger taunting experiences while hitting the keyboard as they were listing. Something one may choose to ponder awhile

Hey - lighten up - he piced it in turkish lira & forgot to mention the currency
Besides that one in the 2nd row, lower left looks awfully new & with new toning too! It just maybe a sleeper in that set - at least worth an opening bid

Razorface, that is hilarious. I guess that the Canadians are going to have include postage with their million dollar bid, assuming you someone pick it up at the opening bid. I wonder how he got that million dollar opener. Why not just say two million?
Thanks JohnZ, I was ready to pull the trigger. I guess I need more practice subtracting from one million.
Just for the heck of it I used the postage calculator -- it costs $61.10 to send that grouping to me with $100 insurance. I can't imagine the cost if I get the grouping properly insured.
LOL......Has anyone noticed the new opening bid? He/She has dropped it by 1 cent. I guess the insertion fees a MUCH CHEAPER this way. I'm DYIN' OVA HERE..

Well folks, I offered him $800,000 for these beauties and he refused. I guess he was left with no alternative but to re-open the bidding starting at $500,000. I'm going to consult my Mrs.(the ball and chain) to see if she'd like to venture this valuable prospect for our childrens future. I HOPE I'M NOT OUTBID...

I think I'll ask him if he'll accept $800,000, this is all I can really afford for these beauties
