1907 HR Saint MS64 Scam? [update]

This has all the earmarks....foreign seller, same coin pic for BOTH auctions, absurd price.

What I can't understand is how a seller with such high feedback and long time ebayer try to scam now. Also what's the story with this "restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only"? Never seen that before.

This is a case for "scamjerk".

Snif snif... Hmm. Does smell a bit fishy.

However, the guy does have a 767 feedback rating with 100% positive (no negs, one neutral). You never know.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

I would love to know if it was an honest listing. Considering PCGS price of around 15K, it would be a great deal to scoop up. I have emailed him, and see what his response is to two listings identical, and the low price, and I will let you know the answer. John

i'm awaiting agreed on escrow via ebay for both lots. supposed to be getting right back tonight 2am to us with a release on the buy it now's and is agreeing to take our bids on both bin's for 9200+ shipping to escrow manager + their costs and our overnighting a cashier check made out to the escrow service once they have received the 2 ngc ms64 h/r wire rim st g's. the slab #'s dont matter. if they get 2 ngc ms64 w/r h/r ms64 st's after i hit the bin's i dont care if they are dog ugg cause i can hit the unseen bids and walk with at least 18k so i'm good !
did this on another fluke last year on ebay, guy was using and old greysheet from 15 yrs ago to sell proof sets off of. snagged up what netted arounf 40k deal up of 1950 to 1955 box sets mostly sealed for about 6k. chocked full of cams and dcams too. BUT did it through an ebay escrow JUST.......to make sure. when they (escrow co) have product from seller and our funds, game is over and rewards are reaped

Looks like the seller had his ebay account compromised. A scammer uses a legit seller's account for a scam auction, collects the loot and disappears. The account owner must have caught on in order to revise the auction, but who knows why he just didn't cancel it.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

As I recall, Legend's eBay account also got compromised some time this year, around CSNS I think.
