Wow. Think I got some good Deals on ebay last night...

I bid real low on 2 Kennedys for my short set. Think I got some great prices. Are they really not worth much in this grade?

E-Bay prices have been in the toilet most of the summer, I hope after Labor Day it gets better! Nice buys!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Nice looking coins. I find that after midnight on Sunday's is when I get the best deals on eBay.

Personally, I'm glad that the prices on eBay have been in the toilet. Makes it a little easier on the old wallet for this collector.image

Lori, I agree. NOW is the time to pick up PCGS Kennedies. I was surprised at what this lot ended at (and, check out the one variety that more than makes up for the whole auction!):

What is happening to PCGS Kennedies?!

  • Russ it is the one from the proof set you thought was not cameo. Here are some pictures. They are not very good and through the flip. I am almost positive it is at least a cameo. No spots or hairlines.

    Whatca think?

    Lori,

Reverse is cameo, obverse is right on the cusp. The mirror depth is excellent, and since this is a big issue with PCGS, it just might land in a cameo holder. Nice coin - just too bad you had to get stuck with those other sets with Frankies in them. image

  • I'm just happy to get an AH that has no spots or hairlines. Just about everyone I have found has spots all over them. I will be happy with the whatever grade it gets.

PS. Those "other" proof sets are now traded in at my local dealer for some credit toward something better. image

PS: The same seller has another group of three sets up that also includes an Accented Hair.

    I feel that pain!

  • I won this auction yesterday. Link.

This seller just emailed me wanting $11 for shipping. I told him he was NUTS. Isn't it agains ebay policy to charge outragous shipping cost. I have sent 10 sets for less then $5 insured. Anyone know?

  • You CAN find great deals on ebay, especially when the seller forgets to put "PCGS" into their heading and their coin goes un-noticed... Just picked up a $ 850 coin for the $ 500 start price she had up..... poor thing.... Should I tell her what she's doing wrong.....mmm..... I don't think so....lol.

    Lori,

I saw that auction when it first listed and passed specifically because shipping costs aren't listed. Got burned a couple times, so now I don't bid if I don't know the costs in advance.

The auction Braddick put up is incredible (think ½ price). The 82 no FG, the 71-P......there are some pretty tough coins in that lot. None are finest graded, but all are nice collector quality coins. They are currently fabulously under-appreciated, and I hope they stay that way for awile.image

  • May not be a large spot but isnt that a milk spot by the e on the obverse? Maybe a bad picture.

Be sure to check the '68-S and the '70-S for doubled dies. There are a number of good ones on both dates.
1968-S-PR 2-O-I-look on the 8 of the date and "WE TRUST"
1968-S-PR 6-R-I-look for strong tripling on the stars
1970-S-PR 2-O-I and PR 5-O-I-strong doubling on "WE TRUST
