I'd go with 80% excellent on this one; that second one appears to be growing fur. Do you submit all the AHs, even ones that look like that?

I give up. Can't compete with these guys. Looking forward to starting my collection of 1913 Liberty nickels. A set of 1964 Peace dollars would be nice, also.image

Joe you are not alone.I tried to keep up for a while but since Russ,Dan,Ursa, and Marty (I am sorry to those I can't remember)got to searching,The Regular Kennedy's are now the Scarce Variety.

Lori's another one on my list.image

Like I said before, I saw 5 more 1913 Liberty nickels at the Baltimore show than I did Accented Hair Kennedys. Everyone thought I was Russ because I kept asking "Got any Accented Hairs?"

All these dealers with their million dollar display cases and I couldn't find a "common" '64 accented hair in a nice slab. Go figure.image

    Joe,

What are you whining about? You already have the biggest stash east of the Mississippi. image

  • What causes the spottiness on these coins, particularly the first row, second coin?

    David,

It's caused by improper rinsing of the planchets at the mint. It was a pretty big problem with proof coins in general through 1964, and seems to be a bigger problem with the Accented Hair in particular. It's embedded in the planchet, so when you get one that bad there's no hope of recovery.

Aside from the ectoplasm on the second one, looks like some nice Kennedies, and a nice score! image

I think Marty should keep the "Ectoplasm" Half along with the "Magic Crystals" Lincoln Cent. I asked him to share the picture of that one again a while back, but he didn't humor me. image
